Hope is a happy girl. Just when things seem dim and dark, Hope smiles with her warm brown eyes and says something like, “Everything works together for good, for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” She is sincere and has a way of bringing peace into chaos. Sometimes the baby is crying, the phone is ringing, and the dinner is burning. Hope gets real quiet and busy. She coos to the baby, as Mother answers the phone and turns down the stove.

Hope once encouraged a friend at school about a math test. She reminded her friend that she had no reason to fret, that she knew her numbers, and that she’d done her homework.
